Ladies Purse/Wallet
I had a bit of Michael Miller Flower Shower fabric left over from bag I made for my sister so I thought Id make a purse/wallet with it. It has 6 credit card holders, internal zip and 2 pockets. I stupidly put heavy weight interfacing on most of the parts which meant that it was a total b*gger to try and put right sides out and made me ruin my topstitching depsite using a leather needle (I will know the next time!) but I think it worked OK overall and I still love this fabric! I also got to use my rivet machine again too which made it really easier to insert the popper closures. Am lovin' that machine!! xxx

ReplyDeleteYou clever thing it's fab ~ was it mega fiddly? I have a pattern to make one and I keep looking at it and putting it away again!

Thanks everyone. Kandi, it wasnt too fiddly. Took a while to cut all the bits out but was generally ok. (Sorry I didnt reply to you direct but you have a "noreply@" on your account.) xxx
ReplyDeletePootle Your purse is fab! That fabric is great.
ReplyDeleteClaire, your wallet is adorable! Love those MM fabrics, too! I did the same thing with the interfacing with the first wallet I made...best way to learn what not to do, eh? :o)

Another fab make Claire. The fabric is lovely. You've made a great job of the purse.
ReplyDeleteLove the fabric! Just right for your wallet! Thanks for the tips. Hopefully when I make one I will remember your advise and not use heavy weight interfacing.
