Pickled Goods (of sorts...)

From the post heading you may think Ive been busy in the kitchen but no!!  You are probably all going to think Im  mad (err, maybe a little bit yes) but Ive been making pickled grannies and pickled bums.  When me and my sister were kids we used to love buying these at craft fairs so I decided to make some.  I gave my grandma a jar of pickled grannies for her 80th birthday on Xmas Eve and gave the "bums" to my sister for Xmas.   You can also make beach bums (fill jars with sand) and smelly bums (fill jars with pot pourri.)  I still find these amusing even now.  I am sooooo childish sometimes!!  x

    They are fab! I made my mum a jar of pickled bums last Christmas and they were the source of much amusement. My hubbie was horrified that I was giving someone bums but my mum loved em!

    Those are sooooo cool and so funny! I haven't ever seen them before but I really like them. I can see why people would enjoy getting them...you couldn't help but smile whenever you looked at them!

    Those are cute! I had to come check them out, but I have to admit, I thought maybe they were some kind of pickled eggs in the shape of bums, and I wondered how you did it.

    How fun! My grandma has some of these in her house when I was a kid. When I was really little I thought they were creepy. There was this one that was just a whole head and I thought she actually put an old lady in a jar for the longest time. After I grew up some I thought they were just funny.
